In 2014 and 2015, he went through back surgery in the hopes of recapturing his dominant form. In 2015, he fell to rank #104, the first time he was out of the top 100 since 1996. He even dropped out of the top 500 in May 2016. Even worse, he was ranked 1,005 in July 2017.
