It didn’t make sense
Melissa frowned, incredulous. “The ring? What about it? I already told Mr. Harris everything,” she replied, trying to make sense of the situation. “Well, we want you to tell it again, but this time to us. Where did you get it?” asked Agent Davis in a firm tone. None of this made any sense to Melissa; she couldn’t understand what was so special about that stupid ring that the police were questioning her about it.
