Familiar Photo
The photograph looked familiar. The photo was of the farm. Then she noticed it was the identical one her grandfather had given him on his deathbed. She didn’t understand, so she flipped it over. The other side bore a strange statement in hurriedly written script. “The barn contains all that I leave for you. “Go to it and remember your birthday.”

Jemma didn’t understand, but she decided to check it out anyhow. She drove to the farm for the first time in many decades. She hadn’t seen the location since she was a child. She paused in front of the barn and, for the first time in her life, went inside. The air was thick with dust, and all of the lights had broken. It didn’t look like anything, but she didn’t realize the ultimate gem lay beneath her.
